Meet Ms. Aimee

I love looking through the eyes of a child as they learn and discover all about music. It’s truly amazing to teach children music concepts and skills and celebrate with them as they proudly, excitedly show what they can do after diligent practice. Learning music has a multitude of benefits aside from the pure joy of making music – enhanced brain function for math and reading, benefits for social and emotional skills, and teaching character qualities such as self-discipline, persistence, cooperation, responsibility and more!

I grew up singing in choirs/ensembles/solos and playing piano, handbells, violin, and guitar. I have a Bachelor’s degree in Music Therapy and Master’s degree in Music-Music Therapy. I sing solos and in the choir at St. Peter Lutheran Church, have directed the choir, lead songtime for Sunday School children, and I am involved in the music for worship committee. My husband and I have three children who are also discovering the joy of music through the Let’s Play Music curriculum.

For developing total musicianship and providing a solid musical background, the LPM curriculum is phenomenal! And it is all accomplished through FUN (singing, dancing, playing instruments, movement) and while emphasizing parent-child bonding. It is truly a JOY to teach this curriculum and my students, families, and music are such blessings in my life!

When not involved in musical pursuits, I also enjoy swimming, biking, running, hiking, camping, cooking, reading, and playing with my three children and hubby.
